Reading Group (Thursday 12:30-2:30pm 5-week course. Start date- 07.11.24)
For learners at any level who need to improve reading, writing and speaking, listening and communication skills or just enjoy reading.
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar Workshop (Wednesday 12:30-3pm. Start date 06.11.24) – This course is a 6-week course and will cover all levels initially. It will include the following topics:
Spelling- strategies, syllables, mnemonics, irregular plurals, root words and link to prefixes and suffixes, homophones, and other spelling areas.
Punctuation- apostrophes, commas, semi-colons and capitals.
Grammar- clauses (exam requirement), irregular verbs, definite/indefinite articles/subject verb agreement, tense use, nouns, verbs, adj. and adv./paragraph use (exam requirement).
Functional Skills Writing Workshop (Monday 9:30-12pm. Start date- 04.11.24)-This course is a 5 week course and will be for Entry Level 3, Level 1, Level 2 and GCSE learners only: the workshop will focus on the formats and contents required to support learners with their writing skills.
Analysing Language – (Wednesday 12:30-3pm. Start date 06.11.24) A four week course to help and support learners studying Level 2, GCSE and above gain an understanding of language techniques, the purpose of language, identifying quotes and much more.
